Reviews and Ratings
The hotel rooms may seem outdated and tired since they were built in 2002, giving off a drab vibe reminiscent of a caravan site cottage at a higher price point. However, a complimentary bottle of sparkling adds a touch of elegance to the stay. The service is exceptional with helpful and friendly staff, willing to go the extra mile even accommodating parking needs. The location offers a secluded feel while remaining close to the main facilities, with a luxurious touch like a spa cabin and breathtaking views of Great Oyster Bay. Dining options are generally good, except for a disappointing bacon quality, but with lovely dinner choices and packs for hikes. Overall, the hotel balances its drawbacks with its standout service and picturesque surroundings.
The property is set in a natural environment, but our room was positioned right at the end and lacked basic cleanliness. The stunning views were somewhat compromised by cyclone fencing due to renovations. Despite these drawbacks, the location offers a spectacular setting with excellent views of Coles Bay and the sea.
The hotel offers excellent rooms with amazing bay views and comfortable beds, but lacks views in some rooms. The service is fantastic, and the staff are polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. The location is superb, close to Freycinet National Park with beautiful hiking trails. Dining is varied in quality, with some dishes being mouth-watering. The facilities are well-maintained, including a free-standing tub next to a large window.
Despite the initial price, my stay at the hotel was a bit disappointing as the rooms weren't as clean as expected. However, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, especially over WiFi. The location was perfect, close to Coles Bay town and surrounded by a serene beach and bush landscape. The dining experience, part of the package, was terrific, especially the buffet. The facilities were well-equipped, even though there were a few teething problems with the new pavilions.
The lodge offers a large, comfortable double bed and an impressive bathroom. However, the decor is a bit worn out and dull. The view, mostly of old trees with a small glimpse of water, may not justify the higher cost.
I was pleasantly surprised by the room layout, the indulgent spa bath, and the super comfortable beds. However, the room felt cold and uninviting on a chilly Tasmanian night, which wasn't what I expected. The upgrade to a deluxe spa room was a nice touch, and the sofa bed was convenient for our stay.
Staying at the hotel within the exclusive Frecynet national park was a very comfortable experience with a private outdoor bath available for groups. The rooms were well appointed, but the bathroom was lacking. The staff was super friendly and helpful during peak times, making the service very pleasing. The location felt cavernous, offering a relaxing and private stay, especially for those lucky enough to be upgraded to the new cabins by the shore. The dining experience, although very nice, could have offered more sweet meal choices. The facilities provided were excellent, with crisp salads being a highlight in the dining options.
The lodge offers exceptional beach views and a stunning bush location. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, but there is a noted lack of toilet room. The service provided by the staff is amazing, adding to the enjoyment of the surroundings, with exceptional knowledge of the area. The location is fantastic, being close to various walking tracks and offering easy access to sightseeing opportunities. The dining experience, regrettably, falls below the expected quality for a lodge. Nonetheless, the hotel offers good value for money considering the amenities available.
